Enrollment Checklist
Apply for financial aid– Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and visit the Student Aid Office for more information on scholarships, student loans, grants and work study. | |
Apply for Housing- If you have not already, be sure to fill out a UM Housing Application. You can access it on the Housing and Residence Life website. Housing assignments will go out at the end of May/beginning of June. Once you know where you have been assigned, check out the virtual Residence Hall tours to start planning for the Fall semester. | |
Submit Your Health Forms– Visit Student Health Services to submit your Health forms. This is a requirement for all new students! | |
Get your student ID made– You may upload a photo through the GET App and have your student ID mailed to you over the summer, or you may stop by campus and have an ID photo made at the Solution Center on the ground floor of the Carmichael Library. | |
Register your vehicle- Students parking on campus must register their vehicles and/or motorcycles annually. Parking decals are $35 annually, and the fee is added to your student bill. Vehicle Registration is done online, and you should complete the process by mid-August. | |
Pay tuition and fees- The payment deadline is the first day of the term by 5 p.m. Account balances can be viewed in Banner. | |
Buy or rent textbooks– Visit Freddie’s Books and More located downtown for all of your textbook needs. You may also order from them online. | |
Register with Access and Compliance (if applicable)- Taking time to complete the registration process with AAC over the summer will ensure that everything is in place for you at the start of the Fall semester. The application and requirements are accessible on the Access and Compliance webpage. | |
Get involved!- The University of Montevallo has something for everyone, including over 90 student organizations. Visit falconlink.3706a.com for a full list of organizations. Also, be sure to attend the organization fair on your Orientation day! | |
Complete VAWA and Title IX Online Training– All new students are required to complete online drug, alcohol and sexual misconduct training. Watch for instructions in your UMemail following your orientation session. | |
Attend Welcome Week!- Welcome Week provides new students with opportunities to connect, have fun, and prepare for the first week of classes. The dates for Welcome Week are August 17th-24th, and a detailed schedule will be sent out over the summer. | |
Find your PO Box- All residential students will receive a PO Box in Farmer Hall. Your PO Box assignment and combination will be emailed to your UM email address in mid-August. |
